What Kind of Friend Are You?

You Are A Loyal Sidekick

While you aren't the most visable one in your group...
You're always up for a good time or conversation
And you stick with your friends no matter what
You may feel underappreciated - but it only seems that way!

What is your objective?

My objective is to get every penny.
Your objective is to keep every penny.

A song that speaks my mind

I saw a movie it just wasn't the same
'Cause it was happy and I was sad
It made me miss you oh so bad 'cause
Dreams last for so long
Even after you're gone
I know you love me
And soon you will see
You were meant for me
And I was meant for you.
I go about my business, I'm doin fine
Besides what would I say if I had you on the line
Same old story, not much to say
Hearts are broken, everyday.
I brush my teeth and put the cap back on
I know you hate it when I leave the light on
I pick a book up. Turn the sheets down.
Take a deep breath and a good look around
Put on my pjs and hop into bed
I'm half alive but I feel mostly dead
I try and tell myself it'll be all right
I just shouldn't think anymore tonight 'cause
Dreams last for so long
Even after you're gone
I know you love me
And soon I know you will see
You were meant for me
And I was meant for you

Yeah.... You were meant for me and I was meant for you.

There was a time

There was a time I thought I am tough enough to handle things. Even when things didn't fall into the right places; I'll be fine & able to adapt well.
There was a time I was down, I just couldn't fall any tears. I thought maybe it wasn't that bad, but actually it even worse. I wasn't quick enough to react. I wish I can just let it out instead of holding everything inside of me.
There was a time I didn't say a word not because I have nothing to say. I just simply don't know how or it is going to make no difference on what you perceive from me.

Why a tie?

I just wanted to fulfill one of items on your wish list.

What's Your Personality Type?

You Are An ISFJ

The Nurturer

You have a strong need to belong, and you very loyal.
A good listener, you excell at helping others in practical ways.
In your spare time, you enjoy engaging your senses through art, cooking, and music.
You find it easy to be devoted to one person, who you do special things for.

You would make a good interior designer, chef, or child psychologist.

Is that the reason?

You Communicate With Your Ears

You love conversations, both as a listener and a talker.
What people say is important to you, and you're often most affected by words, not actions.
You love to hear complements from others. And when you're upset, you often talk to yourself.
Music is very important to you. It's difficult to find you without your iPod.

With all my hearts

A gift of dark chocolate on Valentine’s Day may give your sweetheart a healthy heart. Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat found in olive oil, makes up one-third of fat in dark chocolate. Eating food with oleic acid as part of a healthful eating plan has been shown to be beneficial for heart health. There are certain antioxidants in chocolate, which may help to prevent cholesterol from sticking to artery walls, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Chocolate also contains flavoniods, the same compounds found in red wine and tea, which are currently being studied for their potential health benefits. The darker the chocolate, the more antioxidants and flavonoids it contains. When tasting dark chocolate, stay in your mouth for a few seconds to release its primary flavors and aromas. Then chew it a few times to release the secondary aromas. Let it rest lightly against the roof of your month as you experience the full range of flavors. Finally enjoy the remaining taste in your mouth. Don’t forget the amount of chocolate you eat can make a difference in your calories intake, so enjoy it in moderation.

This Valentine’s Day try the Dark Chocolate Coated Strawberry to surprise your sweetie something from your heart.

Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standing on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard
Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad

Do you know do you know where you going to

Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you
Where are you going to? Do you know?
Do you get what you're hoping for
When you look behind you there's no open door
What are you hoping for? Do you know?
Once we were standing still in time
Chasing the fantasies
That filled our minds
You know how I loved you
But my spirit was free
Laughin' at the questions
That you once asked of me
Now looking back at all we've planned
We let so many dreams
Just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long
Before we'll see
How sad the answers
To those qusetions can be

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Every Christmas Eve Santa Claus rides in his sleigh pulled by flying reindeers from place to place to deliver gifts to children. What kind of snacks can give him energy but don’t slow him down? If Santa drinks a glass of whole milk and 2 cookies at every household he visits, he will consume at least 3 billion calories and over 1 million grams of fat that night. In order to keep Santa’s trip jolly and able to squeeze down everyone’s chimney; the best snacks for Santa should contain carbohydrate for energy and protein for fuel.

Tips for healthful Christmas snacks:
1. Skim milk instead of whole milk. A cup of skim milk contains 90 calories and less than 3 grams of fat.
2. Substitute high fat cookies with gingersnaps or graham crackers can save up to 160 calories and 8 grams of fat per serving.
3. Refreshing veggie platter with celery, carrot, cucumber and tomato with light Ranch dressing are great treats for Santa and his reindeers.
4. Jolly fruit compote with strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, grape, kiwi, pineapple and orange, topped with fat-free yogurt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

With a little planning and creative mind, you can maximize your Christmas food choices without expanding your waistline.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Sleep Less & Weight More

Sleeping is an important part of our lives; lack of sleep would affect on judgment and is prone to make mistakes. However, it is not the whole story, lack of sleep would cause to gain weight. There are hormones ghrelin and leptin in our bodies; which are responsible to regulate hunger and appetite. The level of ghrelin and leptin in our bodies may be affected by lack of sleep. When the level of these hormones falls, our hunger level rises and appetite increases. Therefore low hormone levels due to sleep deprivation can result in overeating and weight gain. Most people seem to do best, when they get between seven to nine hours of sleep. Missing a night of sleep on special occasion is nothing need to worry, but consistently lack of sleep can deteriorate the body functions. If you can have a better control on leptin and ghrelin levels, you may also be able to control your appetite and stay away from the unwanted snacking.
5 simple ways to have a good night’s sleep and cope with weight control
1. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol and nicotine in late afternoon and evening.
2. Stay active and exercise regularly, but not before the bedtime.
3. Set a sleeping cycle, which enables your biological clock to prepare for the sleeping mode.
4. Relax before bed, read a book, take a bath and listen to relaxing music before climbing to bed.
5. Don’t lie in bed awake, bed should be associated with sleep and avoid reading and watching TV in bed.

August 15th

What is your first association of Moon Festival? Would it be the first lady on the moon- Chang-O or Moon cake? As Moon Festival comes closer, the moon cakes’ pictures are everywhere. There are many different kinds of moon cake in the market such as traditional white lotus seed paste moon cake, snowy moon cake and ice cream moon cake etc… But after all they all have the same characteristic – high in calorie, fat and sugar.
According to the research conducted by the Consumer Council on 9 different moon cakes, a typical double egg yolk white lotus seed paste moon cake (190g) contains over 800 kcal (more than 3 bowls of rice in calorie) and over 800 mg of cholesterol (the daily recommendation on cholesterol is less than 300 mg), 16 teaspoons of sugar and 8 teaspoons of oil. On a daily basis, one should eat no more than one-eighth to a quarter of a moon cake. Beside moon cake, delicious seasonal fruits such as grapefruit, persimmon, star fruit and pear could also add more festivity to Mid-Autumn in a nutritious way.
